Why Integrated Energy Therapy?

Integrated Energy Therapy for Pets

Picture
Hi Everyone,

So happy it's the weekend and to be able to have some down time. What I love to do in my time off is to go out with my dog Swagger to someplace where we can both get some exercise and fresh air.  Today we went to Atlantic Beach and had a wonderful time.

Since I have a new series of classes coming in June offering Basic IET and Pet IET classes again-  I thought I would share about them. If you love your pet(s) as much as I do- then perhaps this modality is for you. If you sign up for both the BASIC IET and IET for PETS you can have a combined price- which I will offer a discount combination price of $300. Why would I do this? Siimply because I would love to see more people bring this work to their pets and the pets of others.

So read on- and I hope to hear from you soon~

IET for Pets Class and Training
(Horses, Cats, Dogs and more)

Our IET for Pets class was developed for people with pets as well as people without pets who love animals. Our objective in designing this class was to focus on cats, dogs, and horses and to teach how to offer a complete Basic Level IET session to these wonderful creatures.

The cellular memory in animals is in some ways similar to that of human beings, but is in many ways different.

This process explores the soul’s mission of these three types of pets, details their nine cellular memory areas, their IET integration points, and the complete step-by-step session procedures. It can be applied to other animals as well after the training.
IET Sessions for Pets

We start the session by discussing which areas of healing you wish to focus on for your pets.  Next, IET energy is systematically directed into specific areas of your pets cellular memory by means of gentle therapeutic touch, and powerful IET techniques are used to gently get the issues out of the tissues for good from your animals.

To learn this process for yourself, you must take Basic Level IET and then the IET for Pets Class with a Master IET Instructor/Nancy. Healing for Pets can be done in person or in a distance session.

Classes can be taken at Feeding The Body Feeding The Soul in St Augustine Florida (or a location of your choice, instructor approved.)

Wouldn’t you love to bring the Healing Energies of IET to your beloved family friends and help them “get the Issues out of Their Tissues”?

Disclaimor: IET is not a replacement for Medical or Veterinary Treatment. It does not cure, or consider itself a replacement for professional Veterinary Services.

Won't you join me for the BASIC IET and IET for PETS Classes in June 2016?

IET Sessions- What is Integrated Energy Therapy?

5/13/2016

Picture
Happy Friday everyone! What a great week it has been. This week I have offered multiple IET Sessions for teens and tweens who are feeling the stress of everyday life. Some with ADD and others with ASD.Still others just managing final exams, summer plans, teams and the issues of being a young adult. No matter what- IET is tremendously beneficial for people of all ages to  assist them to be their absolute best.

What is Integrated Energy Therapy?

IET is considered the next-generation, hands-on, power energy therapy system that gets the "issues out of your tissues" for good. The technique was developed by Stevan Thayer, Director of the Center of Being in Woodstock, New York. IET is a process where the Healing Angelic Energy is provided by an IET Level 1,2 or 3 or a Master Level Teacher( Nancy) who has been attuned to the Angelic Healing Ray.

What does an IET session feel like?
Most people experience a deep sense of relaxation during their sessions. Some see colors or visions. There may be sensations of heaviness or lightness. Frequently people will go to sleep or go into a "delta" state. It is common to experience feeling lighter and more joy-filled after a session.

What do I "do" during a session?
IET sessions are a little over an hour in length. You needn't "do" anything. You will remain fully-clothed and lie on a massage table. There will be a pillow for your head and a sheet or blanket to cover up with. As the energy begins to flow, it is natural for your body temperature to drop. Relaxing music is played. Some people will talk through their sessions. Others prefer to simply be quiet. During a session, we can talk during your session or wait until we are finished. That choice belongs to you. Sessions can be done "in person" or "remotely." For more information on remote sessions, please contact me directly.

How does IET work?
IET works using gentle, hands-on touch directed to specific areas of the body where we hold emotions. As these emotions are released and cleared, you will begin to experience a greater sense of balance in your life and in your relationships. IET works with the Energies of the Healing Angels. This energy removes emotional issues from the cellular memory of your bodies tissues.

How many sessions will I need?
There isn't a simple answer to this question. It appears that as issues begin to release and old patterns disappear, life begins to become easier. A good rule of thumb is, "When life begins to give you what you want - when you feel as if you are walking through life with ease - you will know that you are on track." Generally, as that begins to happen, people feel that rather than needing regular sessions, periodic maintenance is extremely beneficial.

What IET classes do you teach?
I have been teaching the three levels of IET since 2011. Classes are also available for IET for Kids, IET for Pets, and The Healing Angels of the Energy Field. Classes are taught at my office as well as in other locations. If you are interested in hosting a series of IET classes in your area, please contact me. I am happy to travel. Email me for more information on classes, sessions, or one-on-one training.

Effect of Alcat-Based Food Elimination on Inflammatory Markers, Body Composition, and Medical Symptoms

Research was conducted by Lukaszuk J, Shokrani M, Hoppensteadt J, and Umoren J in the spring of 2015 at Northern Illinois University on the Alcat test (Cell Science Systems- CSS).

Researchers conclude:
  • Elimination of inflammatory foods has a positive impact on SAA, BMI, and MSQ scores;
  • Avoiding reactive foods and adhering to ALCAT results may positively influence inflammatory responses, body composition, and well-being.
The study is one of the first known to investigate the question of whether foods actually have an effect on total body inflammation. In the pre/post test, double-blind, study researchers did not know what protocol subjects would be on.

Only CSS was aware of who was in the placebo and who was in the treatment group. Cell Science Systems provided the treatment group subjects ALCAT food sensitivity reactive food lists.  The placebo group were given a false list of foods to avoid.  Researchers provided subjects guidance as how to follow the elimination diet for 1 month.

The treatment group (n=87) received the correct list of foods to avoid, meaning what was in the red, orange, yellow, or blue columns. (Red = Severe Sensitivity; Orange = Moderate Sensitivity; Yellow = Mild Sensitivity; Blue = None, Mild, Moderate or Severe).  The placebo group (n=46) received a false list of foods to avoid. Neither the researchers nor the subjects knew what group they were in. Upon completion of the study, all participants were given their correct ALCAT reactive foods list.

Subjects followed a four-week elimination diet based on their ALCAT results. Blood samples, body composition, and medical symptoms questionnaire (MSQ) were completed day 1 and day 30. A Disease Symptom Inventory (DSI) was completed to see who would qualify for the study; the entire DSI consists of 20 questions. Subjects had to have a “3” (a somewhat severe effect) on at least two of the DSI questions to qualify to be in the study.

Researchers set out to recruit individuals with signs of inflammation present, not individuals who were healthy and symptom-free. For example, the initial DSI revealed individuals with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), eczema, anxiety, and other signs that they may be having food intolerance issues.

After 30 days on the elimination protocol, the treatment group experienced a statistically significant decrease in serum amyloid A levels (SAA) from day 1 to day 30. Conversely inflammation and SAA scores increased for the placebo group. The results were statistically significant at the 0.001 level. These remarkable results indicate that there is a significant decrease in inflammation when an individual follows their ALCAT elimination diet and avoids reactive foods.   The study utilized the SAA level as it can be considered a more sensitive marker for systemic inflammation than C-reactive protein (CRP).

Weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) also decreased during the study. When restricting any type or number of foods, an individual will be more aware of what they are eating, caloric intake will be reduced, and BMI will be expected to decrease. Although both groups in the current study lost weight, the treatment group had a much more significant BMI decrease then did the placebo group.

After the initial DSI was completed, an MSQ was administered looking at head, ears, eyes, nose, throat, overall wellbeing, energy level, joint pain, and basically how one feels overall. Individuals in the treatment group felt significantly better from day 1 to day 30. The placebo group had the benefit of feeling better but not nearly to the extent that the treatment group reported.

One particular individual with lung nodules of unknown origin ended up in the treatment group. MSQ at the beginning of the study was 160, a very high score that reflects a multitude of symptoms. At the end of the study his MSQ was 11, demonstrating that he felt exceptionally better. The individual took his ALCAT results, laminated them, and took them to the grocery store, to restaurants, to any place in which he was going to eat.

When he returned to the doctor’s office his physician asked what he was doing because his nodules were receding. He informed his physician that he was following the ALCAT elimination diet; the physician instructed him to continue what he was doing as the nodules were diminishing.

The study also looked at myeloperoxidase (MPO), an enzyme used by immune cells (neutrophils, monocytes) during microbiocidal activity. Levels of MPO decreased in both the treatment and placebo groups. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is an inflammatory cytokine that is supposed to “drive the boat” in the sense that where it goes, everything else follows. Although it did increase in the treatment group, it increased considerably more in the placebo group.

The treatment group had a more significant decline in body fat than the placebo group though both groups lost weight.

Researchers conclude:
  • Elimination of inflammatory foods has a positive impact on SAA, BMI, and MSQ scores;
  • Avoiding reactive foods and adhering to ALCAT results may positively influence inflammatory responses, body composition, and well-being.
All study subjects indicated (in a post-study interview) that they would continue to eliminate reactive foods (as determined by the ALCAT food sensitivity test) because they felt so much better when avoiding those foods.

Nutrition for Mothers, Grandmothers, Daughters and more…..

Feeding The Body Feeding The Soul St Augustine,Fl

In honor of May and Mother’s Day let’s talk about Nutrition for Women.  Whether you are a female  of young , middle or senior age, there are specific key nutrition topics that pertain only to women that are best adhered to for optimal health.

Balance is the Key
Having a balanced diet  is key. This doesn’t mean eating perfectly every day- but more importantly having a variety of choices that equal the best formula for good health. Women, would be served the best of health if they include foods such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, low-fat dairy and lean protein choices. However  females have special nutrient needs, and should keep the focus on meeting these through the different stages of life.

Eat  For Optimal Nutrition
Nutrient-rich foods provide energy for women's busy lives and help to prevent disease. A healthy diet should incorporate:
  • A minimum of three servings of whole grains. Such as oatmeal, whole wheat breads and or brown rice or quinoa.
  • Three servings daily of low-fat dairy products including low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt or cheese.
  • Five to 6 ounces of protein such as lean meat, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, beans or peas and nuts.
  • Four 1/2 cup servings of fruits — fresh, frozen or canned without added sugar.
  • Five -half cup servings of colorful vegetables — fresh, frozen or canned without added salt.

Remember to incorporate Iron rich choices
Iron is one of the many keys to good health and energy levels in women. Some excellent food sources of iron include red meat, chicken, turkey, pork, fish, kale, spinach, beans, lentils and fortified breads and cereals. Plant-based sources of iron (non-heme iron sources) are more easily absorbed by your body when eaten with vitamin C-rich foods.  To do so add vitamin C  fruits such as strawberries to a spinach salad, squeeze lemon or lime,  or add  orange slices or tomatoes to a lentil soup or bean dishes.

Child Bearing Years require Rich Sources of Folic Acid
When women reach childbearing age, they need to eat enough folic acid to decrease risk of birth defects. The requirement is at least 400 micrograms of folic acid a day. Make sure you consume adequate amounts of folic acid daily from  foods or supplements.. Good food sources of folic acid include: citrus fruits, leafy greens, beans and peas naturally contain folate. Folic acid is also found in fortified products such as cereals, rice and breads.

Make Calcium a Part of Your Daily Diet
For healthy bones and teeth, women need to eat a variety of calcium-rich foods every day. Calcium keeps bones strong and prevents osteoporosis, a bone condition which makes the bone vulnerable to breaking and weakening. Calcium rich foods  are delicious and can include low-fat or fat-free milk, yogurt and cheese, sardines, tofu (if fortified with calcium) and calcium-fortified foods including juices and cereals. Additionally, there are many calcium fortified non dairy sources such as almond, soy or rice milk and some juices. Please be sure to read your labels.

Foods To Be Managed for a Healthy Weight
  • Keep weight in check at any age, which has health risks when let out of control. Women  young and old should avoid  excess consumption of calories from added sugars, fat and alcohol.
  • Consider-limiting or eliminating intake of regular soft drinks, sugar-sweetened beverages, candy, baked goods and fried foods
  • For those over 21- consider limiting alcohol intake to one drink per day. A drink is equal to 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine or 1.5 ounces of liquor.
  • Give thought to choosing low-fat dairy and meat products instead of their full-fat counterparts.
  • Rather than eating foods that are high in saturated fat —  such as the kind found in fatty meats, sausages, cheese and full-fat dairy products, baked goods and pizza. Try lower fat alternatives like lean beef, turkey or chicken products or  good choices loaded with veggies and light on the full fat cheeses or fried  cooking methods.

Balancing the Scales of Calories and Exercise
Women by their nature typically have a distribution of more fat and less muscle than men. In the calculations of calories needs,  you  may need fewer calories to maintain a healthy body weight and activity level. Moderately active women need in the 1,800 to 2,200 calorie range daily. Of course, some women who are more physically active may require more calories.
Remember that at any and every age physical activity is important for muscle development and maintenance, bone strength, wellness and   a positive outlook.

Whether you are doing yoga, strength training, walking, playing tennis or surfing- any activity you participate in will help with calorie balance as well as add energy burning to your  lifestyle.
