Can We Speak about Constipation?

Hi everyone,

I hope this finds you well. A dear client of mine wanted to speak with me about shhhhhh- constipation. They felt so frustrated- all the products from their health food store weren't working, and they only ate the "right" types of fibers.

After careful exploration, we discovered they weren't getting enough dietary fiber ( 15-35 grams per day) and they also did not have enough of the proper nutrients to allow for their bowels to empty correctly.

After a wonderful review of products and fibers with my lead Nutritionist at Designs for Health, we came up with these products for a solution. Of course, there are many ways to get this done.
Constipation: always think Magnesium Citrate first and foremost. Anaerostipes is a live probiotic featuring Anaerostipes caccae – a butyrate-producing strain to support gut health, microbiome balance, and gut barrier integrity. I am hearing that it really helps those who are prone to constipation. We also have Tributyrin Supreme if you just want an instant source of butyrate. Some start with Tributyrin Supreme and then follow up with Anaerostipes. 

Tri-Butyrin Supreme™: The foundational butyrate delivery product, featuring CoreBiome™ a patent-pending tributyrin form that maximizes colonic delivery. Enhanced with black cumin seed oil and medium-chain triglycerides for superior absorption.

• Dose: 1 softgel 1–2 times per day in the evening
• Gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free; non-GMO

2. Anaerostipes Probiotic: A next-generation, live probiotic strain (Anaerostipes caccae) that endogenously produces butyrate directly in the lower GI tract. This is the only commercially available product delivering this strain. It ferments dietary carbohydrates (glucose, fructose, sucrose, prebiotic fibers) and mucin-derived sugars to produce butyrate, acetate, and lactate in the colon.

• Dose: 1 capsule per day on an empty stomach
• Features delayed-release technology for targeted lower GI delivery
• Note: Not for use in pregnant or breastfeeding individuals

I am hearing that both of these products really help those that are prone to constipation. We have Tributyrin Supreme if you just want an instant source of butyrate. Some start with Tributyrin Supreme and then follow up with Anaerostipes after a couple of months.

3. Fiber Prebiotic Complete (PAFUNF) Feeds butyrate-producing bacteria endogenously, providing a synergistic blend of soluble and insoluble botanical fibers to support GI motility, bowel regularity, and healthy gut microbial balance.

• Dose: Gradually increase fiber VERY slowly
  Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) produced in the colon by anaerobic bacteria fermenting prebiotic fibers. Its role in GI motility is well-documented through two primary mechanisms:
• Enhances Colonic Motility — Butyrate acts directly on colonic motor function. An experimental animal study demonstrated that germ-free mice (lacking microbiota and SCFAs) exhibited abnormal colonic motor patterns characterized by sluggish and disorganized contractions. When butyrate was administered, normal motility was restored, suggesting that butyrate directly supports healthy colonic function.
• Nourishes Colonocytes for Optimal Function — Butyrate serves as the primary energy source for colonocytes (colonic epithelial cells), accounting for 70–80% of their ATP supply. This fuels essential functions such as electrolyte transport and intestinal barrier integrity — both of which are critical to normal stool formation and transit.
• Stimulates Mucus Production — Butyrate promotes expression of the MUC2 gene, stimulating intestinal mucus production, which lubricates the colon and facilitates stool passage.

These four support products plus a consult with me, will support you to move freely and allow you to have a normal rhythm to your bowel issues.

It’s Nancy from Feeding the Body, Feeding the Soul.
Sometimes I realize I don’t post as often as I’d like because I simply assume you already know everything we offer here! But today, I wanted to take a moment to share the "why" behind my work.
I truly love what I do.
This practice—which brings together Nutritional Healing and Spiritual Development—was created in 2013 with the guidance of the Angels. My goal was to weave together all the modalities I’ve mastered and offer them to you. Why? Because these exact tools made a monumental impact on my own life during a major season of change.
